Oh my God.

If ever there was a literal example of the totalitarian strain ravaging Western European politics right now, it took the form of the vile, pernicious, glossy document which greeted me on my return yem heir soir.

As with other monumental affronts to fundamental democracy, notably the 'repeat until they say YES' referenda on anything to do with signing away national sovereignties as favoured by the Europarl's chief Stalinists, this Livingstonesque tome was a literary monument to our nation's ruination since 1997.

Terrifyingly redolent of that hated Trotsky's behaviour modifying pamphelts throughout his repugnant, Ceausescuesque reign of socio economic terror, this odious document is nothing more than a self serving tirade of criminally biased communism, presumably served up on the premise that if something is presented in sufficiently sparkly print and couched within sufficient reams of unqualified statistics, the masses will meekly relent, submit to the proposal et voila, several million tax payers and X number of already 'overregulated to Hell' businesses will find themselves impoverished by another £1500-2000 per annum.

It is the very work of Satan and must fail; it's proponents are miserable vermin and should be cast adrift as traitors and those who genuinely believe it's hype so wrong headed that for them, vivisection must surely represent their most useful destiny.

Absolutely, comprehensively and scandalously one of the most insidious con tricks ever perpetrated by the scum of any post war City Hall.

Nope, it's a bit far south for me, but I did see the tv advert for it.

"We're going to do all these wonderful things for public transport. It will be a time of peace and plenty. The sun will shine. Birds will sing. Everyone rejoice at our generosity!
oh and we're introducing congestion charging."

Pernicious fkers. Some tt writes this st for a job.

No, i'm too far South to get it (Macclesfield), however, as with someone else, I've seen the TV Adverts.

They're also advertising on Facebook too, targetting anyone in the Manchester Network. It essentially says, 'Do you want £3billion spent on Public Transport in Manchester - click here'.

What a fking stupid question. Of course we do. HOWEVER, not when it means having a fking congestion charge.

They say only 20% of peak time travellers into Manchester will be affected, how so? if you cross the line you pay.

If only 20% get taxed, then the scheme can't pay for itself.

It's a scam, it's unfair and ill thought out, we MUST stand against this for all our sakes not just Manchester.

Follow the link to the online poll on the tif site and have your say.

Why bothered to waste yet more of our money by sending us the so-called Consultation Brochure, when they have already made up their minds about the CC.

With any luck they'll send us all a pamphlet on emigration soon to save us the hassle of finding the information for ourselves.

I returned it full of negative comments, not that it will make the slightest bit of difference. I was listening to Sweeney yesterday on the drive home. Tuesday I am guessing they had someone from Manchester council on, who answered very little at all on the CC. Did anyone listen to it?
