If you live in Tameside I would urge you to sign the MART petition seeking a referendum:

http://www.tamesidemart.co.uk/

"MART's main aim is to force a referendum on the congestion charge. In order to do this council law allows us to petition for an elected Mayor to replace the council leaders. Unless a congestion charge referendum is granted MART would contest a Mayoral election with an anti congestion charge candidate. In Tameside the required number of signatures for the petition is around 8000. The meter on the right shows the progress of the petition"

3,500 signatures so far...
ALL Manchester area residents - follow that link and it takes you to a general anti CC petition.

[edit]Here is a direct link to the main 'Manchester Toll Tax' petition petition-sign it

Already done mate. And signed the No. 10 petition. And written to local councillor and Ivan Lewis, MP.

If that doesnt work, then I will phone his office until I can have a face to face meeting with him or some local government types.

Sick to death of this bloody sword of damocles hanging over our heads - get this shower of hot steaming ar$eh0les out of government ASAP!

The answer is to buy a load of LPG converted green goddesses and do a mass blockade of London's streets - Pre '72 so no road tax. LPG powered so no CONgestion charge!

If only you could engineer a way to make it hose a tank of Bull$hit back at them, this would be the perfect anarchist's protest vehicle!

http://www.gmfuturetransport.co.uk/consultation/re...

This is the public response form for the consultation on the TIF site, please fill it in and tell the just what you think of this stupid scheme.

Be aware, the only place you get your say is the first page, the rest is demographics.

A quick heads up - I've just been away for a few days and found an e-mail from MART in my inbox when I checked it a few minutes ago.

There is a consultation that closes today (10th of October) so nip in quick and add you voice, if you can, before they close. public response form

And if you haven't had a look already MART has a website that is worth a gander.

Seems the 'yes' campaign has been branded 'biased' by Ofcom.
