Cannonball Run from Old Trafford football ground Sunday 1st June 08.
Should be plenty of nice cars (and girls) there.
They will be driving through the city centre at about 11am so camera phones a must.
I will add pics to spotted thread next week....

I went for a look. Interesting morning, I ended up with a cameraman under my brolly filming a couple of bits with Rob Hallam and co-host for the ITV show of this event. Then I had the two Stormtroopers under my brolly with me, I don’t know if they did it for comedy effect or not but it must have looked funny anyway. Try to imagine a full-on Stormtrooper walking up to you complete with metre long gun and politely asking if they can shelter from the rain for a minute. Surreal! And to add to the effect, the only way they could communicate was through an electronic voice thing built into the suit. It was a slight anticlimax when the cars left because the police only seemed to close one direction of traffic, and there were random cars waiting on the roadside, so the cars on the event didn’t have any room to give it some beans away from the start, which was the main thing I wanted to see. I was also planning on going to Tatton afterwards but the weather shot that plan down. Few pics...

nice pics smile If only we'd got there earlier...

I was stuck behind the police car blocking the traffic but still got a good view of them coming out, only 2 pictures though...

and somehow found a few of them still lurking around in the city centre, my camera had dying batteries though so only 2 of one of the 430s

I’m in your second pic but there are a few people hiding me from your angle. You’re lucky you didn’t miss them completely, the start was delayed a fair bit as it was I think, I thought about following them into town but was cold, wet and well ready for heading home at that point! I’ve got a bad feeling I’ll appear in the tv prog somewhere even though I was trying hard to avoid being in-shot, there were cameras everywhere hehe

Sounds like we were lucky more than once, only reason we got stopped behind the police car was because we went to try and find somewhere to park! Still great to watch though, and again lucky to find the F430 still around. Any idea when the programme is going to be on? Not for a while I'd imainge but still, I hope someone with a camera got you with those stormtroopers haha tongue out

It’s on ITV4, July 13th, 12:30. They’ve got the tv schedules on the Cannonball 8000 website. When the Stormtroopers came and stood with me I was thinking to myself the only reason they were doing it was to get a funny pic/shot but I hope I was just being paranoid.

I got there at about 10:30 but only stayed for 20 mins cos the weather was awful .

Was also planning on going to Tatton afterwards, but the weather dissuaded me as well.

what an excellent two days even with the bad weather at the start.
The rain stopped at about junc 16 on the m6.
The pics are really good. My car is the black 911 number 86. There is some footage on you tube.

It was a good, event. I was working on it as per usual, but managed to get there second in the q7 even though my result doesn't count. Head still hurts though
