I can't promise anything but, how about a drive up through the lanes and end up here http://www.williamloughran.co.uk/ (just take a look at the current stock list). I call into the showroom now and again & William's happy for us to have a look around. I'm not too sure of the closing time, but if there's enough interest (and William's happy) then we could have a look around for half an hour or so??? It doesn't neccesarily have to be next months meet up, but let me know your thoughts please? If there's enough interest, then I'll call in and see if it's O.K. Thanks.

Ahhh, Williams toy shop. If anybody has not paid a visit I strongly recommend you do and what better way to do it than on a run out. Top call Snapper!

Lawrence, great idea!

If we can't tie it in with a run due to regular run being late in the day, sure we could organise a weekend morning or late afternoon in addition to the regular run smile

I've just been up to Loughran's and they're happy to accomodate us, a local TVR club has been recently. They suggested a Sunday would be best, all I need to do is phone them a week before. I've just had a look in my diary and (from a selfish point of view) the next Sunday that I've got available 22nd June! What we could do is meet up at The Wheatsheaf, go up to Willam Loughran's then go off for lunch somewhere such as Settle, Hawes or even Leyburn. There's some ctracking roads over in N. Yorks. Let me know your thoughts please? Thanks.

I think it's a good idea for a day out, but this has gone from something to do at the Wheatsheaf meet, to a weekend, and now to a North Yorks trip.

I still think it's a good idea, but don't think it should replace the May/June meet outright as the whole point of the meet is that it's an easy location to get to, a convenient time for those who can't do weekends, and somewhere fairly local for those who don't want to travel far.

We've got this Wheatsheaf meet going with good numbers on a fixed date and location which is part of it's appeal, so let's be careful not to mess with the formula too much as it's working well now!

Why don't we have a 'Suggestions' sticky at the top of the forum for ideas idea etc, have done this on other car club forums and works well?

I'd love to do both!

As the weather gets better we also get the Westfield boys out of hibernation for the Thursday night meet as well, as it technically it is their meet, it's just that the PHers seem to outnumber them now :-)

If you could do a Sunday more in between that might help numbers, if the meet is on Thursday 26th June, then 29th is close for some. Don't think it would stop me doing both, but it might some!

Thats a good idea, and we could see numbers of who was interested in what as well.

There seems to be a natural split between some of the longer standing members who went to the meets near Man Airport tunnels, and those who have joined in the last year or three. It would be good to link the groups up at a meet.

It's no split - the 'old guard' just doesn't turn out much these days.

New jobs/partners/interests have taken them to pastures new.

But I'm still the same ie unreliable/opinionated/tightwad tongue out

Thanks, I'd always wondered why the longer established members never seemed to make the trip to the Wheatsheaf meets, I noticed they met the other month again and was curious.

Cheers.
