Red rose was 97.4, and red rose gold their sister station on AM, as I recall.

(now Rock FM / Magic FM?)

Red Rose Radio used to broadcast similtaniously on 97.4fm and 999am. When the radio authority opened up more licences Red Rose Radio "split" into 2 stations and called the FM station "Rock FM" that was aimed at the 18-34 year old market and "Red Rose Gold" on AM that was targeting the 40+ market. This meant the radio station could now attract specific advertisers for their particular market and thus generating more advertising revenue.

We've also been listening to it at work for the last 2 weeks on nights All the old timers (and there are lots) shout TUNE! when something like Thin Lizzy or AC DC comes on!
