Have you listened to the new 106.1 radio station? It is the best alternative when you have had enough of Key 103 and Century.

Post your thoughts back here. I am converted!

Red rose rings a bell, wasn't the jingle a robotic voice or something? I was inseperable from my little tranny when I were a lad...

Red rose was 97.4, and red rose gold their sister station on AM, as I recall.

(now Rock FM / Magic FM?)

Red Rose Radio used to broadcast similtaniously on 97.4fm and 999am. When the radio authority opened up more licences Red Rose Radio "split" into 2 stations and called the FM station "Rock FM" that was aimed at the 18-34 year old market and "Red Rose Gold" on AM that was targeting the 40+ market. This meant the radio station could now attract specific advertisers for their particular market and thus generating more advertising revenue.

We're in Manchester on Monday. What time is it kicking off? Going to see the bodies at Science and Industry museum first.

We've also been listening to it at work for the last 2 weeks on nights smile All the old timers (and there are lots) shout TUNE! when something like Thin Lizzy or AC DC comes on!

Sounds good! I've just started listening to some of my old classic rock CDs again. Cheers. smile
