NW Karting event meet for May
Discussion
For those who where not present at the last Wheatsheaf meet, one of the idea's we discussed was a Karting event, and as it happened another club I am in have just got together the minimum number of participants necessary for an Outdoor Karting event on the Three Sisters Racetrack, minimum number is 8 teams of 4 members each.
I am adding three more teams from my works (Pilkington) which is fairly local, most will be Karting novices or have done it once last year, whereas the original club organising it is the SXOC (Nissan 200SX owners club) and these teams consist of some beginners, some work friends and two teams of experienced drivers (one team will consist of two of this years Time Attack drivers in there allocation of four, another team is NW tuning company DCMS who are also in Time Attack this year) so there will be a good mix on track :-) I know most of the participants and they are a friendly bunch of enthusiasts, very similar to PH people.

"The time has come..."
Some say certain people are already in training for this most spectacular of occasions.
That this is the time and the place where battles are fought, respect is won or lost and defeat (plus pain) is just a raindrop away.
No man can hide and all are heroes.

One idea we discussed was moving the meet forward to Tuesday on this week, so we could join the other clubs and drivers who will be popping to a nice local pub when the event finishes at approx 9pm.
If those people who where at the Wheatsheaf and want to attend could please confirm a firm interest in the next few days, and then we can check numbers and open it up to any PH'ers.

I'll double check, but the safety briefing starts at 6pm, I think practise/qualifying at about 6:20 and race at 7pm. If you have to cut in fine you could always go to the safety briefing at 6, then change into your racesuits after it.
The track is a few minutes from M6j25 and M6/A580 East Lancs intersection.

This event is getting closer now, and we have at least deposits from most of the other teams so I'm trying to work out the best way to collect the money.
The SMACS team mentioned they may be able to get 1 or 2 other teams, if you still want to invite up to 2 others then you are very welocme to as we are currently on course for about 12 or 13 teams, and anything between 12 and 15 is about ideal. It's a 1km long track, so during the race karts get spread out a lot.
Could you arrange to send me the deposits or full payment per team, if you start by contacting me so I can send details that would be great, my email address is (I'll try and use a non spam encouraging format!)
scott dot mckenna at pilkington dot com (no spaces in address)
Am looking forward to this now.
Cheers,
Scott.
