Manchester Bolton Bury canal working party

Hi there. Don't know if anyone is interested but theres a working party this weekend to tidy up a section of this disused but beautiful canal.

We'll be cleaning up Prestolee locks, removing overgrowth, cutting trees down, tidying up the towpath etc. Its not a litter-picking mission, its more to make the place look much nicer since the canal hasn't seen much use for 70 years. Heres the area we'll be working at:

If anyone is interested PM me and I'll put you in touch with the organiser. All you'll need is gardening gear. Most of the work is shovelling overgrowth off the coping stones and setts, and removing plants and weeds. Its amazing the difference that 20 people can make over a couple of days.
