Seriously, got the MR2 back today after being "fixed" for the second time and it's even worse. All they've done is introduced a new problem and damaged a heatshield.

They were meant to be replacing the cat and exhaust manifold. However:

- They replaced the manifold with a secondhand part which I'm not too happy about
- It doesn't look like they've replaced the cat, unless this one has a heatshield that is knackered in exactly the same way as the old one. The heatshield is welded to the cat on these cars so it's highly unlikely they swapped it over
- I now have a check engine light
- There is (minor) damage to the manifold heat shield that wasn't there before
- My radio's dead; had blown a fuse, I've replaced it and it's still not working
- When I got the car back the ashtray had fag-ash in (I don't smoke) and the car was filthy inside and out

And on top of that, the car STILL has no top-end power which is what replacing the cat was meant to sort. I suspect they just didn't replace it. At least they relented and admitted I didn't owe them any money for attempting to fix my car for the second time after they did a half-arsed job in the first place.

Anyone feel like blowing up a used car dealership?

Wow, sounds like a quality establishment they're running there! From the fag ash & dirt it sounds like some nimrod from there might have been running around in it?? Bang out of order if so.

Lord knows. If the engine's still knackered I'm looking at my options, the (costly) silver lining may be a 2ZZ engine swap (190hp one as used in the Exige).
