Bodywork in Lancashire - Cutting, Welding, Painting
Discussion
Hi,
Just hoping somebody might have a recommendation for a good quality reasonably priced chap to do some work as per the title (rust on edges of front and rear arches plus a tiny area on the right hand sill).
I'm in the Blackpool area but I'm prepared to travel to get a good job.
The work is on a Porsche 944 that I'm trying to bring back to an excellent standard if that makes a difference.
Many thanks,
Matt.

Seconded. They fixed PW's Aston Martin after Ben S bent it.....
Why don't you come along to the monthly NW meet of the Independant Porsche Enthususiasts Club? There are a couple of regulars who have had work done on the sills of their 944s. The Regional Organiser has had the sills replaced on his concourse 944 recently, and would be happy to chat to you about the work.
They are a friendly bunch, I still go after selling my 944 5 years ago. It's the first monday of the month at the Thatch and Thistle pub on the A6, not far from J6 on the M61.

I might have some of that - I take it pork of the rear engined variety is welcome??They are a friendly bunch, I still go after selling my 944 5 years ago. It's the first monday of the month at the Thatch and Thistle pub on the A6, not far from J6 on the M61.
All models are welcomed, if you went back 10 years or so the club was mainly water-cooled cars. A lot of those people have now progressed and it must be close to 50/50 with 911s now. In fact I can't remember the last time I saw a 924, it's more common to see a 997!
Now's probably a good time of year to come along as plans for all the summer activities are being discussed.

Just to update this thread:
Thanks to the recommendations above I let Surface & Design loose on my car and would be happy to recommend them to anybody.
They really have done a superb job and bent over backwards to meet all of my requirements whilst fitting things around my schedule.
Thanks for the feedback. Its really good to know that people act on recommendations and that they have done a good job for you. Next time you speak to them, tell Andy I want some bloody commission Thanks to the recommendations above I let Surface & Design loose on my car and would be happy to recommend them to anybody.

I saw your car in there while they were working on it. Looked good as a work in progress
Yeah, I'm not sure it's their favourite car as it was quite a bit more of a job than anybody expected! It looks top notch though now, the only problem being it highlights the rest of the work I need to do!
blueST: I'd spoken to another TIPEC member about going to last Monday's meet but as it turned out the car was only collected from Mike Bainbridge on Monday night (after a bit of mechanical fettling).
Hopefully all will be in place to crash the meeting next month though!
