Both, obviously....... But if I had to pick, and could only do it once, then Clockwise for me.

anticlockwise i say- the first part before the forest area is more tricky that way round (its downhill!) but you get better visibility for the second part which helps set you up for a succession of corners....wink

Thanks for the replies.

I have been twice so far and have only driven the anti clockwise direction stopping off at the end of each lap at a little shop in the village of Cerrigtdrudien at the start of the south end of the B5401.

Will try clockwise on my next visit though.

Both ways are great. For me, I wanted to know the road really well before I could really start enjoying it, so did it clockwise (which I think is the most “natural” way round anyway) over and over until I knew every little imperfection/bump/off camber etc. Then I started doing it anti-clockwise and realised it was just as good that way! Now, I sometimes just cut the A5 section altogether, and turn around in the layby just after the corner on the 543 where the moors section properly starts, and then turn around in Cerrigydrudion and go back again. By the way, the kids in Cerrigydrudion are definitely petrol-heads, each time I passed through last weekend in the Exige I had, they were waving and cheering every time! You can't blame them I suppose, there must be sod all else happpening there hehe

done both, but I preferred clockwise.

Its probably easier clockwise thinking about it as the uphill bit (moorland) is the more challenging piece of road and I always feel safer using power thru bends etc. The forest section can be seriously high speed with longer more sweeping and forgiving bends. I must say I was touching 130 leptons at times on the way down thru the forest.

There are also some other fab routes nearby don't just stick with the triangle.

Sorry, i've just got back from outer-space. Can someone give me this route please?
I'm taxing my car again after a 3 month hibernation so this sounds like the perfect run.
Are there no problems with fixed or mobile scameras?

N.Wales is the home of the traffic Taliban so they could be anywhere. The police aren't daft and must know the Evo triangle is used but they appear to leave it largely alone - but don't quote me on that. Might be worth scouting the first time round.

Best to go during the week, there's way less traffic so they can't really justify the Police presence (or the chopper)... plus you might bump into the EVO guys if you drop lucky.

For the record, I've always done it anti-clockwise, purely as I arrive at it that way from the A5. I quite like the downhill moorland section as my car relishes that style of road and carries speed very well! (Plus it struggles uphill as its only a little fizzy enginebiggrin).
