Promised a friend who's in dire need of a party after a few months of hell that I'd find a decent black tie bash to go to either between next Wed. and Christmas, or in the week or two from the 25th Jan onwards.

Anybody know of any good ones... be it Bond themed balls, "posh comedy" nights, or anything else? If there's anything in Manchester then great. Leeds/London/anywhere would do, though.

(I'm out of the country from Christmas to 25th Jan, so any New Years dos, etc. are out frown)

Cheers all - very much appreciated. thumbup

I could try... but a black tie affair with 2 people is a bit of a poor show... I'm unpopular in Cheshire and have no friends here. *sobs*

wink

Edited to add: How was yours, anyway? Did you ever get a good name for it? Black Tie and Lois-PIE?

ooooo now that would have been far better than "Black Tie and Manchester - because manchester's better than pie" hehe

It was fantastic! Especially when I had to walk into the hotel with Nonegreen and pretended to be a hooker in the lift, the poor guy in there didn't know where to look muhahahaha!!!

It was you!

TVR with personalised numberplate on the M60 last saturday yes

At the Bredbury junction, you accelerated into a gap in front of us as we joined on the funny lane on the right (Blue 206, sister driving).

Tangent over. Carry on biggrin

By "poor guy", I'm assuming there was somebody else in the lift, too, and it wasn't Nonners that was all a bit shy...

...Hang on, have just read what I've written. Of course it wasn't him being shy. wink

Right, do we need to get organising a Jan/Feb ball, then?

If that's a polite way of saying I cut you up, I'll apologise now. smile

Would have been me - was heading over to Leeds for the PH night out there. wavey Not too sure about the "accelerated" bit - Tivvy's engine is poorly at the mo and I only get to use the top 1/2" of the throttle or the S6 death rattle drowns out the exhaust. frown

<vixpy mode> So, your sister...

Probably depends on what he'd done to you to cause the hysterics. wink

Hmmm, Valentines Ball would be fab... but yes, think I'd have to find a different date for that one!

Hmmmm Lois in little sod mode is always quite interesting. 50 years ago she would have been labled incourageable and her mother would have sent her off to a convent and gained sympathy from the community. (AWWWW never mind she was always a bad un that one) Nowadays she is allowed to don a little black dress and get in lifts with men. Indeed roam free about hotel lobbies everywhere complete with little bag containing fetish gear and cheerleader outfit. Billie Piper eat you heart out. biggrin

Actually in truth the guy looked very sheepish when I implied I had paid Lo a large sum of money for unspecified services. When we got out of the lift though she gave the game away and giggled so he prolly thought what a pair of tts. biggrin

As for me being shy.. weeeell occasionally

Team ham? I'm confused... e-mail me? 1st Feb could be a good one, mind. And a quick game of Mornington Crescent always appeals. wink

Yes - we need to chat on that and get something sorted. I'm around all week so give me a bell on either of the '007 numbers whenever's good. Could do with a decent estate agent in Derby recommending, too - decided the apartment's better off sold for this next 2 years.

Cheers bud. thumbup
