Hey guys, I am coming to work in Cumbria in a couple of weeks time and need a good hotel or B&B nothing flash just a nice place to stay. Any one know of anywhere around Workington area.

Plenty of nice hotels in an around Keswick

yeah, if you venture a little more towards the Lake District you'll be much more happier I'd say. Keswick/Bassenthwaite areas are nice and tranquil with many B&Bs.
Even Cockermouth.


But the west coast can be a bit harsh with that freezing sea breeze smacking you in the face and I always think the area looks a bit 'run down'.

A few years back I reguularly had to work in Carlisle, but used to stay at the Pheasant in Bassenthwaite and had a brilliant spirited drive over the hills into Carlisle every morning. They were just farm tracks really with not another vehicle in sight until you got to Carlisle.

The washington hotel in the center of workington,the melbrake about 2mile away from workinton or the howgate hotel on the outskirts of whitehaven about 5mile away!
hope that helps cant really think of any more thats my side of workinton!
