Liverpool Motor Club track day at Aintree
Discussion
Yes, I'm there in the Atom.
The forecast is showing a dry day so let's hope it stays that way.
Saying that, however, that's what was forecast for last Saturday when I was doing a trackday at Goodwood but it changed two days before and I had my first experience on a damp track.
Fingers crossed then.

Yes I will be there, hoping to get a slot from someone who's car may not be ready so I can get on track, but otherwise I will be along to spectate, may or may not bring the little one, as he loves this track due to the amount of machinery that ends up in the bushes!! Normally plenty of good sideways action as well.
Last time wasn't as bad, but in general the standard of driving is not the best at these days, poor overtaking into corners etc, and the marshalls where not the fastest to correct people in the past, but otherwise it's a generally great day with some nice cars.
If you are going to spectate, be aware that it's also the only track where I have EVER been charged to spectate at a trackday, and oddly has the worst spectator facilities!!

I`m booked on too and not done Aintree before. I`ve gone for the Intermediate sessions, just not looking forward to the 10 minute session
10 minutes is a bit long! Never mind you will be back on track again in no time!By the end of the day you'll be wondering where the time and all that petrol went!

Right, own up, who crashed into the bales?!? Believe an Impreza and a Lotus fell out with each other and a Skyline had a fight with a Fence!
Saw the yellow Atom, nice

Well I took the little one to watch this, and as usual he was very happy with all the action, and loved the White Gt3, and the Atom as usual.
Think a Caterfield had a big off as well damaging the wheels and a bit more unfortunately, in addition to the Scooby and single seater that ended up on top on an embankment. Hopefully it's mainly superficial.
Great weather and I enjoyed watching that, although the spectators seem to be further away each year!!
Who was the chap in the long sleeved pistonheads top and sunglasses that I saw later on with a microphone, apart from that didn't recognise any other PHers apart from Alec in the Atom.

BTW still prefer OPL
Monty M100, for your information the Corvette driver was spoken to about his driving but couldn't see what he was doing wrong as no-one was passing him on the straights!
There were some "unfortunate incidents" and again all parties involved have been approached by the organisers.
Roll on 2008!

I got passed him on the straight but yeah he did need talking to and IMHO should of been in with the novices. There were some "unfortunate incidents" and again all parties involved have been approached by the organisers.

Yeah there were a few incidents and maybe some of them shouldn`t of happen, but thats part of the risk you take with trackdays.
I had a great day and thought the event was well organised and when there was an incident the pace car was out quickly so a to LMC
The only thing for me is the 10 minute session, saying that i need get some temp issues so maybe that was a good thing
