I always wanted to go check out the place where The Prisoner was filmed, Portmeirion I think it's called on the west coast of Wales. So now that the weather has turned nice again I was going to set off say 4-5 ish one sunday morning when the forecast is good and clear. Get over there, take morning tea and jam scones and work the rest out from there.

Anyone fancy? scratchchin

How about a lap of the 'Evo triangle' whilst you're in the neighbourhood?

I'm up for it if you pick the right date.

I may be interested, depending on dates and available pennies at the time

Alex, Yeah I'm going on the peaks run too so don't go buggering off into wales or anything! I heard that in some parts of wales the police stop you, strip your car for parts then keep you chained up as their gimp. So we must be careful!

Evo triangle is a good idea. Google maps says the quickest route is about 2.5 hours but I do plan on taking the scenic route, and sticking to the more out of the way A roads, maybe a bit of B road shinanigins but my fear is that if we spend too much time on B roads it'll take all day to get there, and all I'll want to do is sleep afterwards!

As for the date, I was just going to see what the forecast was like towards the end of the week and call it based on that, don't want to set a date and end up doing it on a gloomy, rainy day. I've got this mental image of the sun coming up, clear blue skies, mist in the valleys and views across the peaks. Fog and rain isn't going to cut it i'm afraid.
