Good hotel in the Lakes, (Sellafield area)
Discussion
Folks,
Looking to find a decent hotel in the Lakes, within shouting distance of Sellafield. Looks like I'll be there for a couple of weeks at a time for the next 18 months or so.
Anyone any suggestions? I'd normally head for a country house/family run type of place, but for the amount of time I'm going to have to be there, I'd be keen on all mod cons, (gym etc), especially as I'm unlikely to have the chance to get home at weekends when I am there.
Any suggestions?

Ennerdale Country House Hotel in Cleator? Not been for a good few years but it used to be quite nice!

Hotel Polissia.
Thanks mate, I almost googled that.. Ennerdale looks like an option. I'm just peeved that the whole thing has been put back a few months. Was looking forward to spending the summer there so long evenings could be spent walking and paragliding. Instead long dark autumn evenings will be spent in the pub. So thats ok then now I think about it..
There are 2 hotels in Beckermet. One of them has an absolutely fantastic restaurant. I wigh I could remember the name of it.......all I can remember is that it isn't the "White Horse"/ "Whire Swan". It's the other one.
It's right next door to the local policeman's house, which means it's open until the last person leaves the bar.........which is usually the local policeman!
If I remebre the name of it, or can find it out, I'll let you know. Alternatively, there are a few in St Bees.
