Stockport Scammera

Posted the same question in SP&L but wondered if their is any locals that knew the answer to my pickle!

I was just wondering if one of you guys could help with a incident last night.

On the way back from Buxton lastnight I was traveling down the A6 in Stockport cenre heading towards Manchester.

There is a camera at the bottom of the hill, opposite the bus station at the junction that should you turn left, would take you to the M60.

Now, I noticed the camera but it looked more like a red light camera not a speed camera and passed through the green lights. My speed was around 36-37 indicated in the RX8 as i had it in 3rd whilst coming down the hill then applied throttle at the bottom, just where the camera is.

So, anyway the camera flashed me which I was very suprised it had done, so to finally get to my question, is it a speed camera or a red light camera?

If it flashed you then you've been done speeding as you said the lights were on green.

Red light cameras painted yellow are also speed cameras...

I always thought it was a red light camera.
Then 4 weeks ago I get a NIP, 39mph

Nothing worse than getting caught on your own doorstep..
Anyway I'm off for my "Speed Awareness Course" on monday.......

My Talex thing warns me thus: "warning, red light camera ahead, limit 30 mph". From that I assume that they are also speed cameras - but I'll let somebody else find out!!

i got caught by this one! - I thought it was a red light camera....so accelerated though it before it went red! - DOH.

Yeah i just blipped the RX as the lights had been on a while so thought id make it through and cruse up the hill.....

Well the company hasn't let me know about a FPN yet, still holding my breath though!

I've been had by this one too. I was doing about 36mph and like some others thought it was a red light camera

But i never recieved anything through the post and no points

I thought speed cameras need the lines on the floor to calculate your speed ?

IIRC there are markings on the floor at that junction for the camera.
