I live about 5 minutes from the tunnels and since it's on my way to the M6 I get to go through them quite a lot...sometimes I even do a U-turn at the pub and go back through them

Just a thought, but with so many people busy at different weekends, is it worth making it a week night perhaps mid week (at least in the summer), with the nice light nights we are having now. I've never made a Romper meet but would try and get down and perhaps it may also appeal to more people being a weeknight?

THe only problem is we start at the trafford centre underground carpark which would be full on a week night.

I think I can make the 3rd, if my calculations are correct.

Can I suggest an extension to the route, though?

Instead of coming off the M56 at the airport, stay on and take the A556 down to Bucklow Hill. Turn left and go down (the needlessly-reduced-to-40) Mereside Road and take a left towards Tatton Park (Ashley Road). Up the Tatton straight to Ashley, across the crossroads and follow the road round to where it rejoins the original route just above the tunnels (Back Lane, Tanyard Lane, Castle Mill Lane, Mill Lane). Not the finset roads in the land, but good fun.

So, come off at the airport as usual, through the tunnels, then follow the route I suggested in reverse(*) down to Tatton.
