Body Work - Peugeot 106.
Discussion
Hi all.
Does anyone know of a bodyshop that can cut my rear arches on my 2000 Reg Peugeot 106 in the NW?
The problem:
Since lowering my car by the torsion bar (What a pathetic idea the French had there !!) the car is sat pretty even and everything is ok.
But.. i cant have anyone or anything either slightly heavy in the back or boot as it catches on my wheels.
I have read up on this and it is a common occurance with these and Saxo's as the arches arent rounded on the back end.
Hopefully someone has the answer

Have you thought about making it sit slightly higher. I am trying to be serious and helpful here, not taking the mickey.
If you lower it excessively you often have issues with camber and even toe at the rear. Is the camber adjustable on your car, or does this require extra parts, I'm not that familiar with torsion setup.
I tend to find that lowering a car only slightly has better results, and if you concentrate on a good set of mathced springs/dampers, uprated ARB's, some strut braces and a full proper alignment it can work wonders in the handling stakes for not a huge outlay.

hi aaron,
has your car got a body kit or is it standard
It is standard..has your car got a body kit or is it standard
And Scottie, it will look just as daft as it origionally did with the front nosed down as all the 1.1's are if i lift it up.. you can adjust the torsion bar yes, it has splines but getting it right is abit technical, in other words i wouldnt like to do it everyday of the week.
I hate the torsion bar set up myself they are useless.. i got told to stick a pair of uprated shockers on the back to stiffen up the ride and hopefully take the weight better.
But there is a few 106's that have had the rear arches cut ( rounded off, as the sit flat at the top from factory ).
Thanks.

106/Saxo has a trailing arm/beam at the back so the camber/toe should reman the same at all heights would guess..If you lower it excessively you often have issues with camber and even toe at the rear.
