Not certain if you have any rules such as virtual drinks but thought I would say hello anyway.

If you post any more you'll spoil the symmetry of your post count (11111 at the moment).

Thanks - apart from the infrequent occasions when I commute on the bike most of my riding is North Yorks and upwards so your suggestion is apposite. A group of us is going to Scotland (probably March) and I'll watch the site to keep an eye on what's going on (most of the others have GSs - it's an age thing).

When I get round to logging in I'll post on there about the 3 Horseshoes in Wensley, near Leyburn, with great roads. I was in there on Sunday speaking to the new landlord who's taking over in a couple of weeks. He's a classic car enthusiast and (ex I think) biker who's keen to get rides-out visiting. He suggested if there was a big enough group he'd put on transport from a camp site to the pub and back. 9 real ales as well (not everybody's thing I know).

Def welcome over there, we have a good spread across the whole of the North now, loads of Jocks.

We are starting to meet up loads and have some good social events as well including a new year dinner with Mr Whitham as guest speaker which shoudl be a laugh.

I had a Ducati(749 Biposto)myself a couple of years ago but I was a bit big and heavy for such a delicate little bike(looked at my reflection while riding past a shop window one day and decided the bike was beautiful but the rider looked like a sack of shit on it!!)I now have a 1200 gs which suits me better.

I'm short so the Monster (and indeed my VX220) are fine for me. I mean to get a 916 someday. (I assume it would be an easier ride than the 749.)

Yes and no. The 916 has more grunt and will pull through the gears easier which makes it a lazier ride however the older engines are a bit lumpy and generally need more attention than the testastretta in the 749.

The 749 weight distribution is also different so although not much different in overall weight to the 916 it feels easier to handle and of course it has less general power although it's unlikely you would notice it against a standard 916 compared to something like an 916SPS.
