The A500 Stoke

Went down it today at 5.00pm could not believe it for 90% of the journey I was the only vehicle in sight. There was a small queue at the A50 junction. I went from J16 M6 to the A34 A500 exit in just a few minutes without stopping. The first time in over 2 years.

Yes, fantastic I'd say. Makes the A50 an option again when travelling south

Looking at a map I'd say if you were southbound on the M6, it might even be quicker now to come off at 16 and back on at 15! I'l get over the exitement in a few weeks, It's just that 70% of our clients are around stoke so it makes such a difference to my day

Not that spring to mind except for the mobile vans that lurk around the A50 junction! Give them a few minutes though, they'l soon throw a few up...

they keep taking photo's of me!!!! i even smiled for this one!!! Driving licence looks like a shopping list at the moment!

Is this a new road or something?

I usually go South past Stoke, and take the next exit, drive North a little bit and then turn East past the Brittania Stadium.

Is there now a new road from the previous junction, rather than the tiresome old way over roundabouts and lights? Or has the road been closed recently?

Roundabouts and lights = gone, turned into overpasses.

Just miles and miles of smooth wide tarmac now...

Used it twice now coming back from the M1, beats fighting on the M6 to get from the A50 to Jct 16 and onwards to home, especially with the racer in tow, only problem with it at the moment is that the roundabout to get on it has 2 lanes on the entrance from the A50 but only one exit, i wish they'd move those bloody cones!!!
