Hi fellow NWesters!! wavey

Never been to one before, so was just wandering where / when / if you guys have any regular meets, and whether there are any friendly 7 type kit car owners who go?

I'm currently weighing up the idea of selling my S3 and my track day hack 205 and buying a Westfield (or similar) and a cheap car for work. However i'm not dead sure what type of kit car I'm after (i.e. bike / car engine, which make to go for etc.) and was just after pickng the brains of some people with more experience of this type of motor.

By the way I'm based in N.E Manchester nr to Oldham (the nice part, honest!) if thats any help!

Cheers,

Si.

Hi, wavey

Not had one for a while, but every so often we have a "tunnel run" on a Sunday...

We meet at Peel Way undergound car park at the Trafford Centre, Manchester around 10.30, have a chat and kick a few tyres for about an hour, then off for drinkipoos (Non alcoholic of course...judge) and a bite to eat at "The Romper" via an extremely noisy blast, (depending on whether Minimax has fitted his exhaust or not...yikes) through the tunnels under the runway at Manchester airport...

All welcome, even Balmoral Green's tank.....hehe

Wacky Racer, where do I find out when these runs are on? I'd be up for coming along for sure!

Tom,
I think you need to invest in a sports exhaust and CRPs for your Liz. My mate has done this to his and it's loud (though still sounds like a knats fart compared to my V8 - albeit a VERY loud fart).
Is this anywhere near the Cat & Fiddle? My knowledge of opp Norf isn't all that great but I will be coming up to see said mate at some point to take a hoon along this road.

oh yes got plans for it...

only problem is with it being a fairly boggo 1.8 K-series is the risk of it sounding like a chav car with a bean can PECO back box on it

the romper is not too far away from the cat & fiddle road btw

May have to try and make it coincide then. Stus Liz is fantastic though I can assure you sounds nothing like a chav bean can, whenever I drive it I feel like selling the Tiv. Till I start my engine up that is....evil
Must try and keep an eye on this forum for the date.

Good stuff, I'll watch out for these. I'm generally up for just about any meetup I can make it to, though I doubt my 660cc turbo will quite match up to your cars! laugh

Sorry for the delay in replying, been away for a couple of days, anyway cheers for the suggestions!!

The Westy meet in Chadderton sounds ideal, I play footie on a Wed tho so will have to see if I can feign (sp??) an injury for next week, if not will have to wait till next month!!

V.kind offer by the way to sort a few rides out, sounds like fun! wobble

Had a look at your profile R300, and that looks like a tasty motor lick

However I'm only planning on spending approx £7k, so I'm guessing that your motor may just be out of my price range!!

Cheers for the offer tho, and good luck with the sale!

Where is your dealership?

I would like to come and have a look. Or give me your work's number, I'll ring you for directions.
