Morning guys and girls... How many are you expecting this year then ??? Great time was had by all last year at both shows. Only beaten by the Healey club last year but they were pretty special im sure you will agree.... It was a big anniversary for them though so its game on this year... Lets win that best stand prize out right this year.... Looking forward to giving our support again. Regards Steve & Sue

I attended the 2004 show when I had the Chim. We had a great day. The 3.00PM Rev up was brilliant and attracted loads of people to the stand. I've not got anything booked in for that weekend so will be there on the Sunday.

I've heard that there will be a lot less cars there this year as the owners are not allowing cars to be parked under trees after some tree falling killed or injured a child. Tickets will be at a premium, i know that tipec who had 40 last year where only offered 10 this time round and managed to blag it up to 20

The TVRCC stand will be as last year well away from the trees but will have to watch where we camp.
Space on the stand is limited but we try and get as many cars of all eras of TVR on the stand as possible.
Approach your local TVRCC region for Tickets in the first instance.
A large contingent will be camping over the weekend so there will be plenty going on.
Many who have had sports exhausts fitted over the winter ( Four I can think of for a start)will be trying them out at the REV up.

This thread's been quiet.... We should get there but I guess we are too late to 'display' as such. After all, bog standard Griff 500 aint gonna bowl anyone over... so we'll just sit in the field with everyone else and mingle. Hope the weather's nice.

I should be at Brands for the Historic festival on Saturday, but I'm hoping to be back up in the NW for Sunday.

I always seem to be working for these shows,so I thought I'd cracked it this time as I'd managed to take some last minute leave!

Oh well, back to the decorating instead!

Not sure they have the interests of the punter at heart at that Tatton show.
£4 per car to park then £6 per adult to enter. What's all that about? We join car clubs - I am in TVR and Rover - and I would've thought that with a flash of a card, two adults could park and enter for £10. There's no mention of the entrance fee being separate when they separate the Park vistors' cars and the Show attendees cars; eben though the fee to park in both is still £4.

So we gave it a miss as we would'nt have had enough dosh for a bite to eat. Used the NT card to get in and paid £3 between us for yet another lovely hour in the Japanese garden.

I reckon getting out to see cars at the clubs'own gatherings is the best bet this summer. Different locations and roads to travel on, too.

Anyone else think there could be better pricing? Or is it shadowfax Meldrew, signing off?

I was at the show today, yes, Tatton do take the pee with the pricing don’t they! The thing is, there were loads of people there today purely to use the park and not look at the cars at all. They just pay their £4 for a car full and that’s it, which is good value. I’m guessing the show organisers are a totally separate organisation to the park so they don’t care if you have just paid £4 to park and Tatton Park don’t care if you get charged £6 to enter the show! Just as I was walking back to the car someone asked me if they needed to show their little parking ticket thing to get into the show…..he didn’t realise you had to pay again to actually get into the show…I don’t think he was impressed. On the plus side, I got undercharged for my cheeseburger with bacon and extra onions....yes, I did feel slightly ill after that and I can still taste it now a lesson learned anyway! I’ve been to Capesthorne Hall a couple of times already this year and they just charge £5 for parking and entry to the show (even less if you’re displaying a car I think) so that makes Tatton look a bit steep. This will be of no use if you are showing your car, but in previous years, I’ve parked in Knutsford and walked across the park and into the show for free. I don’t know if you still can, but you could just walk into the show from behind the caravans/camping area in the top corner No jumping fences or anything like that, just straight in! This is a complete guess but I would say its about 2 miles so a bit of a trek if you are adverse to such things Saying all that though, Tatton is by far the biggest show in the NW isn’t it? so that maybe justifies the extra?

Anyway, it was good today and I’ll probably end up going again tomorrow if the weathers the same as today

and Emm, that is easily the most modded Seicento I have ever seen in my life

In defence of the Tatton show I understand they do not charge to display your car. Andrew Greenwood (Capesthorne,Cholmondeley Castle) and Gawsworth Hall charge people to display. I would guess but dont know that Cheshire Auto Promotions pay Tatton to hold the event there. It also states clearly that the parking fee is payable on Tatton's web site. I will be visiting tommorow.
