I've read with interest about Ian in middlewich and can see what a good reputation he was and have been looking who would be near to me in terms of independant servicing. Green star garage in blackpool seem to be the nearest to me. Has anyone dealt with them and would they reccomend.?

pm me if you prefer

thanks

The owner of greenstar usually attends the Blackpool regional TVRCC meet. The next one of which is tomorrow night at the shovels in Blackpool.
Let him tell you in person the services his business offers

Ian does have a fantastic reputation, for example he took delivery of a Griff sent up from Essex at 10pm on Valentine's Day night, thus testing my patience and good nature

Claire

Didn't mind really, as he bought me some cool stuff and I was happily snuggled down infront of the TV with a bottle of wine and a box of Malteasers

Don't forget Shane @ SFR in Stockport. Always used him with my Chim, honest guy, does an honest job and doesn't take the p155 when it comes to charging.

could not make this one but plan to contact the RO and pop down to one soon. I'm happy to speak to the chap in person but was just interested in people's personal experience (i mean i would'nt expect the chap to shout rotten fish would i?). Ian is geographically further away so its what i've got on my doorstep that interests me in the first instance.

Whereabouts are you..? Ian has people from Halifax and Essex coming to him. Plus people from the surrounding area.

I'm no longer a TVR owner but was staggered to hear that HL Gorner was in receivership. They always dealt with me in a most couteous and efficient manner. What's gone wrong?

Can I just point out that H L Gorner has not closed (as was stated by another poster on here last month) , nor is it in receivership!

Just to reassure TVR customers:
* The dealership is still open!
* The showroom currently has over 30 new and used TVRs on display!
* TVR Parts and Servicing continues as normal!

The company is in VOLUNTARY administration, pending the sale of the former Mercedes-Benz and Skoda sites in North Yorkshire and Warrington. I'm sure we'll have more information during the coming weeks.

Blimey!!

not sure how i got from 'has anyone tried?'

to

voluntary administration.......but what the heck!

claire i'm about 5 miles outside of blackpool. I'd be more than happy to make a trip down the M6, its no trouble but i'm a great believer in supporting local stuff where possible and was wondering if anyone could speak from experience.

won't loose any sleep if anyone can't and thanks for all the other information folks.

Zeb,
I live in Preston, I travelled to ian in middlewitch, If someone
sets up TVR sevicing on my doorstep my car will still be making
its way down the M6 to Ian's.

Forget the rest just go to the best.

saw on pistonheads news page about Automedon in Blackpool, seems they will have five ex factory people including mechanics, trimmers, and auto electrician, so will be able to cover all our needs. They also stock Toyo tyres, ACT stuff, and Leven Technology bits. Will be worth a visit

Well Dad checked over Miss Daisy after Ian had got his hands on her and was mightly impressed with the way she is now running.

And he should know how TVR's run

The only person I can think of is Mark Heard.

He is good but not as good as Ian

Mark used to work with Heath in the TVR Service department.

He left a good few years ago.

Mark and heath were a double act. Both good mechanics but not in the same league as Ian @ Middlewich

As for who is working with Mark (if it is him) it could be any one of them that have left over the years.

I take my car to Ian, as do a lot of others, one guy even brings his Griff up from Essex..! now that must tell you something..?

Claire,

Don't forget Shane at SFR, after all, your dad recommends him, as you used to !

I used SFR for 2 1/2 years with no problems what-so-ever.
