Dinner in Birkenhead.

First mistake was staying in Leasowe! Lock your doors... unless it's Leasowe Castle which his OK.
Look up The Lighthouse in Wallasey Village, walkable but I'd get a taxi.
The Nelson is a bit further but still walkable.
Not much else happening around there to be honest.
20 mins in a taxi would get you to something like Hickory's in West Kirby.
Edit: Just read again and you're not looking to drive far rather than not drive at all. My suggestions still stand.
Edit again: Amara Turkish also in Wallasey Village (5 min drive) is OK too.

Go and have one of the challenges at The Nelson.

Yeah, I'm not really a football fan so didn't consider you'd have to contend with a load of Liverpool fans watching the match.
Cowshed in Liverpool is central and close to the tunnel which itself is only 5 minutes from Leasowe. That's my go-to for steak.
If you wanted to stay on the Wirral then as I mentioned above Hickory's is always a safe bet but you'll probably need to book. Another suggestion is Broadway Steak and Wine in Bebington, it looks st from the outside but inside it's nice and the food was decent when I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago.
My office is in Birkenhead, are you up here doing anything interesting?
