anyone know anything about the proposed hydrogen pipeline network in cheshire? Seems it's in public consultation, but no one i have spoken to was even aware of plans prior to receiving a card through the door at least a week into the consultation. Seems to be include lots of above-ground infrastructure although the pipeline itself is below ground.

yea that's exactly the one. We just moved into a new place in the country and there is talk of 'the hub' for the 2 pipelines being worryingly close to my house!

Flintshire residents received letters about it back in June 2021. Nothing on your local searches for any planned work? It’s no big secret about it happening. I suppose it’s just the finer details about the route it will take.

It's been in the planning stage for a few years now.

The edge of the zone in consideration for hub is the boundary of my property.

Saw this on the news last week and decided to google. Seems it will pass very close to my house.

well they haven't set the actual pipeline route yet... they've just declared the areas in consideration for it. The pipeline itself will be underground and pretty much non-invasive. So it's just the issue of the groundworks. Clearly the above ground stuff is more of a permanent issue / eyesore.

True, I read there is likely to be a hub close by also. Regarding groundworks, I guess we will just have to add it to the list along with HS2 which will pass by around 1/3 of a mile away from me.

The peach coloured bit is the area in consideration so it will be somewhere there. You can see an east/west section that runs from stanlow to partington and then north/south which goes from St. Helens with a few offshoots and then circles Northwich. There is a crossing point in the area between runcorn and Northwich.

I just posted for anyone that may have a passing interest.

We're the green bit on the right, though we may look to move a little more rural soon

unfortunately in the north west you've got... HS2, existing main line rail, airports and low flight paths, a megaton of motorways and now this... finding a secluded spot that is green and quiet.. but not utter miles from civilisation... but not in one of our less desirable towns... it's pretty much impossible!

The pipeline will vary in diameter along the route between 12 inches to 48 inches.

Our next/last move will probably be to Southport (or within a mile or two of it). Something between 5-750k will get you a really nice period property.
