we've had an offer accepted on a house in acton bridge, near weaverham, but we're trying to find out if there is anything happening near there we need to know about that would negatively impact our lives... i mean like HS2 or suchlike, although i know HS2 runs east of northwich which is the other side.... but maybe building works, road changes, railway changes and things like that. Thanks

I'm in Kingsley, so about 10 minutes away.

They were doing test drilling around the area generally for potential fracking sites fairly recently but not aware of anything pending.

Ideally find somewhere off the A49 if you can

thanks guys it was to do with a potential house purchase, but it didn't get off the ground so don't have any questions for now! Cheers though.

we've managed to get an offer accepted in higher wincham. Not an area we know a lot about (this is the market we are currently in), but we are hopeful that it is one of the nice ones!!

Is that near'ish to the salt works area ?

There are issues in some places with subsidence due to the brine extraction I think.

But a search should clarify that.

Good luck...

i think they generally do salt mine searches all over cheshire; even in places that are nowhere near. I seem to remember they did one when i bought in Lymm, and unsurprisingly they came back with nothing!

HS2 looks like it will run pretty close to Higher Wincham, you may want to get your solicitor to check it out. Are you aware of the proposed incinerator on the outskirts of Northwich? With the general prevailing wind in the area, anything that comes out of the chimney will head in the direction of Higher Wincham.

fk i wasn't aware of that no..... i mean HS2 yes, it looks to run about a mile away, but the incinerator looks about 3.5Km away. I mean neither are 100% locked in confirmed, but still.

I'm sure the incinerator is going ahead, there's lots of works going on at the site. My parents live very close in Rudheath and can see the site from their property. Used to be able to see the towers when it was ICI/Brunner Mond when I grew up there.

The last thing in the local rag earlier this year was that they were looking to increase the capacity for it
