Interesting things near Carnforth
Discussion
With fingers firmly crossed, we have booked a weekend away to Carnforth in May. All being well we will be borrowing an MX5, which gives an extra dimension.
We stayed a couple of years ago and have done the Lakeland Aquarium, Motor Museum and steam train. We are both wired similarly - any recommendations of similar within a decent driving distance of Carnforth - bearing in mind the car, we are willing to wind our way for a couple of hours in any direction if it's a nice drive...?
We've also done Blackpool Sealife Centre and Leyland motor museum fairly recently... But open to recommendation.
If there's any particularly good seaside fish and chips and B-road routes, also open to suggestions...
Thanks in advance!

Visit the railway station, there is a wonderful exhibition of David Lean's Brief Encounter memorabilia, as it was filmed there on location.
If that doesn't float your boat, head over to Ingleton and take the road over to Hawes, passing Ribblehead Viaduct, and Ingleborough, one of the finest drives in the country.
If you get chance stop off at Dent (4 miles off route) to have a look around.
Arnside is very nice too.
I have an MX5, you will have a great time.

If your in that area the ingleton waterfalls walk is great and also white scar show cave is nearby.Leighton Moss is a RSPB bird sanctuary
Silverdale and Warton Crag have some nice walks and its ok for a drive too, Arnside Knott is a good place for a walk too (though don't get lost, its oddly easy to do)
White scar caves near Ingleton
Lancaster Castle is ok for an hours visit
Visit Morecambe for the Sarjavo experience
But really,, the Lakes draw most tourists.
