Alderley Edge/Wilmslow spotting - best days/times?

I've been up to that area a fair few times over the last few years but rarely have I seen more than one or two nice things at a time and sometimes absolutely nothing so just wondering from the spotters on here that go regularly and get a good amount of spots, when have you noticed are the best days and times to see things?

Don't mind spending a bit of time there as it's obviously a lovely area but don't just wanna be topping up the Waitrose car park coffers waiting for something special.

I live not far away, Brook lane probably best for parking, then a short walk, weekends usually best.
