Anyone got a thought or two on the merits of powder coating Vs spraying? I've been offered both techniques to sort out my 403Ms which are a bit battered and corroded. I fancy going to an all over ferric grey. Based in North Liverpool if anyone's got and recommendations

Incidentally I'm never buying diamond cut alloys again.

always preferred painting as it can be touched in, although my brothers are being done by spectrum in Burscough at the weekend so I can report back when he undoubtedly kurbs them

Had mine done (same alloys), opted for a powder coated shadow chrome / metallic grey

They look really nice. It's going on a white F30 so the deep gunmetal will look good I think. The alloys will need a refurb, as they have a had a couple of good smacks, rather than just a paint and lacquer

Mine are on a white x3 SuperAd just so you get an idea. Also needed a good refurb, got them done in Sheffield at Autodynamics after a recommendation from some one on here. £75 per wheel.

Are they powder coated or painted. I've got it in my head that powder coating will be more durable to stone chips etc. Obviously a curb will scrape through any coating

Had 2 sets done now by Wheelrite in Chorley. Both in anthracite powder. First set for the Forester, second for the Golf. He can wet paint also and he does this after first powdering them with a base colour.

Is that powder coated ferric grey or coated black and blown over with the exact colour?

I'm not sure how it was done, the place had a range of different alloys on display and I just picked a colour. They said they can make just about any colour you chose.
