I saw them planting a fresh Gatso this morning 16/4/05.

A556. Between Mere Golf Club traffic lights and the M6. It is located M6 bound just before the left/right kink as you head towards the little chef which is on the right.

You have been warned.

Wondered when it'd arrive.....they painted the grid on the road a while ago, quite funny to see people slam the anchors on for nowt. Well, dangerous rather than funny really. Shame, I join the M6 south there alot, the entire section from the 56 is a bit dull now...but safer I'spose. On the bend between the Swan and the Lymm roundabout I did once pass the remnants of a very nice black Ferrari (on its roof) and a 7 series Beemer...not racing now were they?

I've seen a Ferrari folded round the lamp-post on that bend too.

Lovely 'vette by the way, Taff.

Z7Vette, I'm sure I saw you a few weeks ago.

I was in the Blue Chim, top down. I think you were behind me, heading to Altrincham, just near Halfords.

There can't be that many Corvettes like that!

New camera - Tameside division.

There's another camera on the road from Dukinfield to Ashton just after the 'Old General' pub (crematorium area). Panic not - it's one of those 'fake' jobbies that seem to do nothing. I'll post again if it turns out to be 'live'.

The camera in Carrington just off the A6144(M) - past the lights before you get into Carrington village - is a fake. Flashes once as you drive towards it at speed.

Both fake AFAIK. The one thats NOT outside Man City's training ground is deffo fake, black lens and black flash, no radar strip. The other one (outside Man C) is very probably a fake, although I've not looked recently.

I've never seen any of these cameras flash, ever. In fact, the red light camera on the lights near Man Utd's ground doesn't seem to do anything either.

The one on the 556 is placed far enough away fromthe kink that you can still boot it away and enjoy the bend.

Shame they didn't close the junction infront of the kink that actually causes the accidents.

Also there is a new scamera on the A34 Kingsway about 1 mile out of the city centre (just along side the new MRI)

Were there any road markings when you saw it? There wasn't last weekend. Pointless place for it anyway. But let's face it most camera positions are pointless except for revenue generation. www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=174112&f=116&h=0

Well it just shows their line of thinking if they see a dangerous piece of road as profitable rather than in need of rectification.
