Its time to give the Chim a re-spray. Can anybody recommend a good spray shop in the Manchester area?

There is a sprayshop on Devonshire Street, between the A6 and A57(Hyde Road) behind Macdonalds from the A6 end. (Near the Stagecoach bus station)

Do not know much about them, but they always have quality motors there. Looks like the sort of place that does the spraying for garages.

If you were interested I could do a drive past and see if I can see a name or number?

They did the repair on a mates Porsche Boxster a while ago.....he took it back 4 times until they got it right. I'm surrently checking one out in Bolton (wing mirrors being done soon hopefully) if they're any good I'll let you know.

I got a quote off a place in Glossop, local to me, who has a good reputation. It seemed quite expensive especially as he wanted to treat the project as a bit of a "hospital job" therefore wanting 8 weeks to do the work

Shame about that place near the bus sation.

theres a place in stockport who did a fantastic job on both my cars, and deal with all our bodywork at work, dunno if they do fiberglass, worth a call though.

Windmill Autos in Denton (on the A57 on that stretch just before you get to Sainsburys). I've not used them for a couple of years - go have a ferret at what they are up to now.

SFR put me onto Autotrim in Denton - they do softtops and trimming - will be using them to repair my Mercs worn leather - website is autotrimnorthwest.co.uk or 0161 336 5952 and ask for Jim.
They had an Aston through to an Astra cabrio in when I went, so should be able to sort you out.

You're the second person to recommend them, funnily enough I'm sure I filmed them a few years ago for ITV's Better Cars. IIRC they had a white volvo that got tarted up bigstyle.

I'm gonna ring them tomorrow, thanks.

PS is their nickname 'jim-the-trim'?

The difference is that Martrim of King st Industrial estate Middlewhich (just off J18 M6) are a pro trim shop. Jim never actually learned to sew and handed the job to his lad who in fairness is not bad but well enough said I tell you at the romper meet if you want to know the full SP...

They are the people who did a friend of mines V8S.
His is a concours (sp?) car and the job was very well done.
Maybe if you get 'the man' himself you are ok. So best to check who will actually do the job.

Elizabeth
