Hi All,

I may be moving work to the town centre of Ashton-Under-Lyne and I am looking for some advice on parking. Currently I work in Bradford and park the old Nissan Micra on street (many visual locks on show) however is there any free on street parking in or around the town centre? Currently I walk 7-8 minutes from my car and to the office, so I would be willing to do the same.

If you have any street names that you can suggest I can look up on google street view that would be appreciated.

Regards

wijit

Some of the back streets off Stamford Street (central) can be handy, the area around Katherine Street and the residential streets around Burlington Street are pretty OK too.

Thanks wijit, I will have a look on street view tonight.

Does anyone know of any pay parking in the area that is at a good price?

There's an IKEA there which is pretty central. Not sure if they have time limits applied (e.g. max. stay 3 hours).
The missus spends at least 5 hours there every time she goes and comes back with something totally unrelated to the original decision to visit the place!

The Ashton west tram stop has free parking, not sure if you have to display a ticket though.

Ashton Market charge £2.50 per day for their car park, according to their Twitter feed.
