Hi

I live in Cheshire and looking somewhere respectable to keep my new lotus elise S in storage for where they would do things like run the engine once a week for 30 mins, move the car to prevent the wheels locking etc.

Is anyone able to recommend somewhere near by?

Thanks

AG

Can't recommend anywhere but instead of running it every week just get a conditioner and leave it connected.

If you did start it every week it would probably destroy your cat and rear silencer as it would build up condensation within the exhaust system but never get hot enough to get it rid of it before switching back off.

thanks for the replies guys. im looking for some kind of service like below. but by advice this can be changed as some maybe not needed or over the top. with regard to starting it each week the lotus garage recommended to run it once a week; at the least just running it standstill for at least 30 mins and move a little bit to move the wheels, but said ideally even just up and down the drive to ensure everything inside is moving, as things would start to seize up otherwise.

Requirements:

1. I’m looking for storage for about 18 months. During this time I need to take it out of storage twice to an approved lotus garage for annual service
2. The car engine needs to be run once a week for at least 30 mins. The car also needs to be moved a short distance to ensure no wheel locks.
3. The car needs to be left in first gear all the time with no handbrake ok
4. Will your insurance cover this car? (If you have your own insurance)
5. The car does have a car cover but im in 2 minds if to use this. For this reason the car needs to have a basic clean once every week or 2. This would involve just hot water and a basic car clean product. The paint has G3 Glass coat paint protection so no waves etc needed. But it’s important the basic wash takes place.
6. For the paint work as can be appreciated, has to be looked afterwell.
7. The car ideally needs to go inside for storage and not outside. If inside, it has to be properly ventilated.

I can do it for you.

I have trade premises and have just acquired a new unit for storage(indoor). Many years ago the unit was actually used for repairing old Bentleys or so I am led to believe by the knowledgable if rather eccentric landlord.
The unit i for some of the cars I am retailing that either need prep work or have had deposits placed. I also run a hand carwash and only use products on your vehicle I would use on my own. no damaging acids or harsh TFR's.
I have more than enough room to store the vehicle, appropriate trade insurance and if you fancy coming down to have a look at the setup you would be most welcome.

This is in Cheshire Sandbach CW11 area.
