Now that my 120d convertible is out of warranty I no longer want to spend £450 on a service so I am looking around for somewhere to service the car thats more reasonable.

I was appalled at how much BMW charged and that no courtesy car was available unless I booked 2.5 months out. When my CEL came on they couldn't look at the car for 2 weeks and expected me not to drive it. So... Time to find a good Indy specialist... Anyone?

Ps: I don't need a courtesy car...

Up until now the car has Full BMW SH but as its now at 95K miles I don't think using an indy will effect value too much..?

I have always used a small indie in Shrewsbury ( Where I live)

He is superb and has many years BMW experience....Where in Cheshire are you as not a million miles away?

Price Motors by the way

David Paul in Warrington.

They also have a courtesy car at ~£10/day.

I'll second David Paul in warrington - not used them for servicing, but they did a great job on fixing my E36 after it met a roundabout in less than ideal circumstances!

I was going to suggest David Paul. They looked after my E46 M3 for nearly 5yrs,great service and reasonable prices.(about a third of bmw rates!)
Easy to get to from northwich ss they are less than a mile from getting off the M6 at warrington.

Baymow in Hazel Grove, Darren Wood in Stockport and Autotecnic in Altrincham have all done good work on my BMWs.

Out of interest if they do good work how come you then go to alternatives?

I usually stick with somewhere good if they do a good job.

Mostly because of changes in houses and jobs - each different combination can make a place difficult to get to on a workday, so I was forced to try another. Fortunately, there are quite a few specialists around Cheshire. I've used more than the list above - they are the only ones I'd recommend.

Another HindHeath in Sandbach suggestion. They had my X5 for several services and I had no complaints at all.
