Morning,

Went to a wedding last night on the Wirral and came home via Mount Road, Higher Bebington, B5151 - between the M53 and Birkenhead.

Does anyone know if the speed camera down there works at all? Didn't notice it flash (didn't notice it at all until it was too late!). Not sure what speed i was doing but fingers crossed!

Also, the black cameras in the Mersey Tunnel - are they just monitoring traffic flow or are they speed cameras too? Panicked when i noticed a red light on one as i approached but slowed right down for the next and still saw a flashing red light.

Speed camera in Bebington is anybody's guess, it is a working camera and still flashes however depends if it has film in.

No fixed cameras in the tunnels, only five-o with guns smile

The tunnel has no speed cameras but it's best to not go above 45 in them.

I was coming home late one night on my motorbike and I was indicating 45, black cab was tailgating me the whole way through the tunnel, got out other side, moved over and let him past... Immediately police car appears and pulls him over, so I'm guessing they have CCTV.

Mount Road camera certainly used to work - a friend who lived 400m away managed to pick up a ticket a few years back.

Thanks chaps.

Didn't get a ticket from either location that night.
