B5470 - Kettleshulme and police stopping cars
Discussion
Just wondering if anyone got caught up in what appeared to be a significant early morning police operation this morning? They've put rubber sensors down at both ends of Kettleshulme village (and 2 more at the junctions to Higher Disley/Pott Shrigley) over the last couple of weeks, so I guess that they had run the data and seen that lots of drivers go through the village in the early hours at more than 30mph.
They were stopping cars by the Swan, and at 7.20, traffic was already queued up to the 50mph zone on the way from Whaley Bridge to Macc. There was nothing on the eastbound side, but a little camera with a box at the bottom of it was placed at the entrance to the village and the 30mph sign. My guess is it's was either capturing number plates for a letter to be sent out later if you were speeding, or maybe it relayed the info live to the police who were waiting further up the road...
