I will be pottering around with wijit junior (Abarth Boy) and Mrs wijit. Just checking out the Facebook page for it, and there should be some good stuff around. Jaguar have got into the swing of things by combining a ride and drive day from their showroom (just turn right at the Wetherspoons place from the town centre end, under the bridge and on the left) and a few others are also getting well involved.
Those good folk from Sporting Bears have a few dream rides going on and if the weather is similar to last year there should be a good number of interesting cars just driving around.
If any of you chaps are interested in a (very) informal meet and chat I would suggest the Sports Bar as the food is good and being located as it is, you can have food/drink and watch the four wheeled world go by.
As usual, if you see us please say hi, always good to put faces to nicknames!

Grove St and a bit down the sides had loads of showrooms displaying, plus Revere and other tuners/ body kits suppliers.
Towards one end were the guys from Sporting Bears doing dream rides (although they may be at a different lication this time) there was also the Etihad F1 car on display. This year there is a Jordan which you can sit in for a small charitable donation, Mini have got into it in a big way as have Jaguar (just round from the rail station.
Early on, there is a parade lap by the guys at Supercar Driver, with around forty cars involved, they will then be parked in at least one "paddock" area on display.
Pop down, the weather is looking pretty bad but it will still be a good day!

So what was it like last year?
The website doesn't say much.
Last year was very good, lots to see, some very nice cars to sit in and check out and some very informative people to chat with. The weather did help a lot though, and this year it's looking less friendly. It looks like even more displays this time too.The website doesn't say much.
I would recommend going in spite of the weather, there may be a few pher's in the Sports Bar (just for shelter, I assure you) it is a good day out, and with the exception of rides (for charity!), is entirely free.

What's the parking situation in Wilmslow? I've driven through a thousand times but never stop!! The only places I know are behind Sainsburys and roadside opposite the Shell garage. Any tips? Or just a case of pick a random spot?
There are several locations, including a multi storey opposite Aston Martin which never seems close to full and sometimes has an SLR or Carrera GT in. There is usually something decent in there, so is a safe haven to leave a car. If you're lucky you might find a spot along the side road which runs alongside the main road.wijit said:

That multi storey if you need to be close. All the really close to town streets are permit only, and the wardens are absoloute ninjas, so no chance to get away with it.If you're happy with a stroll, I'd aim to park off Knutsford Road (Gravel lane or there abouts), or off Altrincham road and wander in (I think this is the area Wijit is referring to). Whatever you do, don't park in the carparks near Racecourse Road, as they're known for people robbing things from them.

Thanks for that I think I'll just take the easy/lazy option and go for the multi-storey. (that I didn't even know was there )Gassing Station | North West | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
