I was going to Wales on Saturday and somehow got lost and wound up in runcorn which I don't know very well, I ended up going over the bridge and round the runcorn ring road back to M56 but saw all these marking before the bridge, no speed sign that I could see nor could I see a camera??

I slowed down but what is the actual limit there and where is the camera??

40mph limit and no camera!

I suspect there was once during some roadworks, which is a regular occurence.

Thanks mate, thought it seemed odd I couldn't see a camera anywhere. Are there anymore like that in the area? Pretty sure it's that bridge I went over.

Rumours fly about regarding a second bridge being built, (might be in 20'years). For now that is the only one unless you were in Warrington.

Pretty sure it was that one as I wasn't paying much attention and went too far down the m62 and ended up going around runcorn to hit the 56.

There are a couple of fixed cameras (one each way) on the Weston Point Expressway which trip at 60 mph.

No cameras on the bridge, but there are sometimes mobile cameras on the approach to the bridge, from Widnes, or shortly after leaving it and travelling towards Widnes.

The new bridge is going to be a good few years off yet.

I've seen them waiting a few times with a camera after the bridge heading from Widnes to Runcorn, they wait just after the really long left hand bend where everybody gets impatient in the 40mph limit and they start to accelerate early for the dual carriageway. Seen it far too many times to let people behind "push" me into doing 45-50-60 until I'm far enough round to see that it's clear.

It's exactly the same on leaving the first exit for Widnes and dropping now under the expressway and along the dual carriageway towards Tesco etc.

Long sweeping right hand bend and then the camera further along in a 40 limit.

Indeed! I never notice that one though as I always come off at the next exit to head past the Widnes Car Centre or whatever it is now and up Kingsway.

It seems to alternate between there and the Runcorn side of the bridge.

Easy pickings.......

There was a camera a few years ago when there was a lot of work being done on it, I hate that bridge with a passion, I've crossed it twice a day now for nearly 10 years frown

Yes definately no fixed cameras there, they were there about 3 years ago when they had permanant road works on the bridge.

New bridge starts to get built next year, completion date of 2017. when both will be tolled, oh the joy!
