Twice this place has burnt down now, very unlucky or if its arson then someone doesn't like the owners it seems.

Whats going on round Cheshire at the moment, The Pointing Dog in Cheadle Hulme and now Panacea?

It's closed for refurbish, so I would guess at something being left unsafe. I can't see it being anything more sinister just now.

Police are treating it as suspicious and are looking for a black BMW or Audi leaving the area.

Sounds dodgy. I love Panacea on a hot summers day, not this year though. frown

You tell me, it was probably about 25 years ago I was going there (100 mph taxi ride from The Swan)

Obviously you lot are all VERY young, as it used to be the Queensgate. Had a sunken fire in the middle of the front bar.

Happy days.

And across the side there was a night club called Sidings

I remember, The Queensgate and Sidings too. Also back in the day, when the De Trafford use to sell Labatts Gold!

Wasnt Brassingamans further up towards the Merlin set back a touch?

Heard a rumour from someone who works very local to Panacea and knows the owner personally, and in his words,
"The owner is a cock, and a skint cock at that"

everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Brassingamans was what is now Panacea, and the opinion of the owner is spot on, also fancy himself as a hard man,but usually comes off worse.

If this is Arson with intent and for blackmail this is a deeply serious crime. Nothing the owner can have done or not done justifies Arson. I hope the miscreants re caught tried and serve very long sentences.

What was the place I am thinking of then, head towards the Merlin, set back on the right hand side, think it was a Lap dance bar for a short time.
