Hello.
I hope I am posting in the right place - but I cannot see where else to introduce myself!
I have lurked for a while every now and then. (We were googling for something or other for our cars - and came across this site a while ago. I never found where to find whatever I was looking for on here but this site keeps cropping up each time I fish for some information or news update on whatever so I guess it was inevitable that someone would post something to make me join in sometime!)
Anyway I live in the North West - somewhere near Manchester as will be evident on my next post! I have kids, an elderly dependent, and I love driving. I will update my profile with details later - but current day car is a top of the range Vectra (don't laugh - it has letters - SRI!! and alloy wheels!) cos it's ideal for the elderly relative and all her stuff, as it's low enough for her to slide into and big enough for wheelchairs and frames and stuf.. My husband drives BMW 740. We have another old car in the garage - but that belongs to the elderly relative - an old Austin 3 litre and though she does not drive it - she will not part with it either. We take her out in it on special occasions - when it starts! So - not exactly the racier sort of cars you all seem to drive - but they work fine for us.
I have noted that you have a meeting every so often - just about 30-45 minutes or so up the motorway and I might just lurk in the pub there to see what goes on one Sunday - if that's OK with you sporty racing car types!

Hi
Thank you for the welcomes. I will be able to make the one for definite on 17 March. I am a bit busy this weekend - blinking decorating to finish off!
The 3L is a beauty despite it being a British Leyland car of the Red Robbo era! It's my Mum's car and she's now 86, an avid fan of Top Gear and anything with cars on the telly! The car celebrates a landmark birthday in April. Its 40th! It's quite a surprisingly pleasant car to drive - reasonably smooth and handles best on a motorway! Its main flaw is the handbrake position - and it takes some getting used to when you normally drive a modern car to and from work etc. I will get the "old girl" polished and spruced up to meet your sports cars!
