Toy run 1st/2nd of December?

Hi all,

I'll be back in Cheshire the weekend of the 1st/2nd of December. First time since the end of September.

I propose a car meet/fun run?

Last time i did one of these was back in February/March if i recall. Had a decent turn out of around 7 or 8 cars i think and we all had a good time with and a nice drive.

Last time we met up at Poplar truck stop where the M6 and the M56 cross and had a run of about 1 hour. This seemed like a good place to start, but if anyone has any other suggestions fire away.

This time i will make the drive a little bit longer.

As before, pace will be limited by the speed of the Lomax. But everyone had fun last time and while not flying, wasn't exactly trundling around either.

Unless it's raining, the run will be going ahead. Rain with no roof or windscreen isn't much fun I'm afraid.

I might well make it again but it's weather dependant. Are you thinking of Sat or Sun?

I think it would be dependent on the weather. If the weather looks great for one day/time, and crap for the rest of the weekend then we should avail of the opportunity.

Last time we hit the roads on Saturday mid morning and there was a little traffic.

Shall we pencil in 9 for 9.30 lift off on Sunday morning before we get the rafts of Christmas shoppers clogging up the tarmac?

I shall keep checking the forecast for next weekend and hope the weather is acceptable.

Once i have finalised the route i will PM you all with it to review and check.

Sat or Sun is fine with me, 08.30 is grand, now which car do i tax;

1/ V6, loud exhaust, not great brakes and suspension, dubious tyres
2/ 16v Medium exhaust, not great brakes and suspension, dubious tyres

Wayne- sounds to me like you have 2 options. More noise, less noise.

Don't worry too much about brakes, sus, tyres. Mine are probably worse, you want to see the amount it rolls around!

It still surprises me how much speed you could carry through the corners, I felt like I was not trying hard enough! Hope the sun comes out, my tyres don't work in the cold!
