Hi

I am going to buy a couple bikes off a guy in Manchester on Wednesday. The bike seems legit, He's got the manuals etc. He gets the bikes from the dealers cheap and then sells them on, All brand new.

His address for collection is Tib Street manchester, I have looked on google street view and the road seems strange, Couple of buildings and thats it.

What is it like this area? Is there any units etc down there?

Thanks

I lived there for five or six years until the end of last year. It's better than it was but still has its fair share of characters.

There's a bike shop there - is it from them? It's a bit scruffy but honest, mostly does single speed courier type bikes.

Its not an actual shop, I think he gets them in bulk and maybe stores them down there?

Is it worth taking caution going there? Dont want to show up with a few thousand £ in my pocket to get mugged!

It's only five minutes walk from the centre of town so it's not miles out. I never felt unsafe, but wouldn't be flashy.

Take a mate or if you're stuck I can be the world's crappest bodyguard. I need to pick up some post from my old next door neighbout anyway.

Tib streets bad at all really. No storage units i know of down there though but there is a few flats he could be selling them out of. Used to be a bike shop next to the chippy not sure if thats still there. To be honest i wouldn't be too worried about going there - It's one of the busier back streets in manchester with a few estate agents etc on it and a fair bit of foot traffic. Its only a minute or so away from my office (Lever Street) and the chippy is my lunch time regular!

Terrible news, Hope they get everything sorted!

The bikes he has though are brand new, boxed, manuals etc. they are only marginally cheaper than RRP so little of money to be made, There not super cheap and dont seem suspicious.

I've been there plenty (there's a dykey shop halfway along) - it's a pretty nice area, very up-and-coming, trendy/alternative. Not worrying to be around there at all as long as it's not crazily late at night.

It's on the edge off Piccadilly (rough) and the gay village and was notorious for street brass.

I wouldn't

Dodgy area Tib Street although the Chippy was good...cloud9..(If it's still there)

There used to be a shop in Tib street that sold bullet proof vests for kids to go to school in at Moss Side and Cheetham Hill....
