Paint shop, Cheshire

Anyone got a good sprayer they could recommend in the Cheshire/Merseyside area? One with experience in working with fibreglass, thinking of getting the stone chips done on my TVR before she goes off for final detailing. Thanks in advance..

I wouldn't call SP Automotive, you won't see your car back for at least 6 months, thats how long it took to get my car back, to do a 2 week job, gave me every excuse in the book after numerous calls and visits to the workshop, work suspeciously started the day I made arrangements to pick it up and take it somewhere else.
on another car I had a complete colour change and went to P F Autos Stoke they did an excellent job
and kept to the time schedule as promised, also try the X TVR works team in Blackpool Surface and design.

Stuart at Autovation in Stockport, if it's not too far for you. Very happy with the work he's done on our cars including painting fibreglass and PU. Recommended.

Is it worth contacting the guys at TrackVRoad in Clitheroe to see who they use? They're a TVR specialist set up by the engineers from Blackpool when the factory closed - they're the guys who designed and built them in the first place. I've no doubt whoever they use will know they're TVR's.

Yes we know TrackVroad and they're excellent, they are responsible for almost all of our car's maintenance and indeed that's who we bought the car from. Trouble is the people they use (no names on here) will do a good job but are very expensive.

Ah. In that case my recommendation would go to Autoline in Wigan. They did some work on my MX5, did an excellent job, at a reasonable cost and did it quickly. They are highly regarded in the MX5 community.

Hi, Sorry late reply not been on this section for a while. My TVR is going to Stephen of SVR Paint to have the front end done, not sure of the exact location yet but in Lancs not too far from Clitheroe. He is the painter of choice for TrackVroad at the minute and Richard (of same) is a fussy bugger so must be good! Done a lot of work with Lotuses and gave me a good price. email [e-mail] or phone [phone].

Just taken all my bits for painting to Premier Auto Bodies in Manchester from my Ariel Atom. (Gulf racing colours, blue and orange) Will post the results and pictures next week when i get them back. The owner there is an enthusiast with a Mk1 Cortina with a super custom paint job. It will be realy nice to find an enthusiast friendly paint shop. Watch this space

Just wanted to update this, today I got my TVR back from SVR Paint (details as per my own post a few lines up) and what a fantastic job, the car looks stunning. The job was completed on time, on budget, delivered to TrackVroad for me to collect, painted and polished to perfection. The colour match is spot on, the paint finish flawless. I have no connection with this business other than as a satisfied customer but just wanted to share a recommendation for anyone looking for specialist spray work in the North West.
