What an amazing day. I've been to CPOP a few times now but this event was that and soooo much more. Seriously packed on Saturday. Never seen so many people in Cholmondeley and the weather was amazing. Chris Evans seems a top bloke, seriously good singer and entertainer and much taller than I thought he was. The music festival and firework display were spectacular. A big thumbs up for this event from me.
I went on Saturday too... Suprisingly well worth the £60 ... Did not stop till the end of Texas and missed the fireworks..But a very good day.... and so many people.... with a third going to Children In Need they did well ... But someone did even better with 20,000 tickets.
PS To my amazement drove straight off the site no queues

Just got back, we stayed Friday and Saturday night. Apart from the state of the camp site bogs this morning, it was a good weekend. Some special cars there, the 512LM was my personal fave. Texas and Paloma Faith were excellent, Proclaimers not really my thing.
Great that you'd a good weekend, and I'm sure some of the bogs at Le Mans will have stood you in good stead. We tried to get tickets on the Carfest site - epic fail, five minute too slow. Sadly some touts seem to have caught a cold on it - oh well
See you in La Sarthe next year.
Went both days in the end but the concerts not my thing. Some highlights-
- the Pikes Peak 405 and the group B line up.
- ease of getting in and out.
- the black Corvette doing Sporting Bears. The black lines on the A49 are from it doing burn outs on passenger rides!
- the Kahn tat. Again not my thing but interesting to see them.
- Amari. Again, interesting to see. The week old FF was probably highlight of the show.
- the auction. Would have the KWE XJS in a shot.
- the food. V v expensive but very tasty. Just about acceptable.
- and the Vulcan bomber. Wow!
A good event and takes car events to another level. Have never seen so many WAGS at such an event. Must be doing something right.

Just got home now, what a great show!
I was working all weekend on the Amari stand so got to meet and talk to loads of interesting people.
Luckily we had motorsport passes so my highlight of the weekend was spending a good hour in the paddock today when they kicked the public out, spent about 30 mins just drinking in the details on Nick Mason's GTR & Chris's F40, took hundreds of photos!
Other highlights were the Pikes Peak 405, the Zonda F, getting my photo took with the child catcher and of course the Vulcan.

Thank you! I'm glad somebody appreciated my work! Apparently a local complained to the constabulary about my 'elevenses', though all I saw were people on tables at the pub cheering. Some people have no sense of humour. On a side note Sporting Bears raised £9,730 before Gift Aid that weekend so thank you to everyone who made donations and joined in. Great show and looking forward to next year already.
Really sad that people choose to complain about people raising money for charity and having fun (without driving irresponsibly - it is possible to experience the brilliance of a supercar without breaking the law!)
The people involved in the complaints need to give their heads a shake.
Well done Max and all involved in Sporting Bears in raising a phenomenal amount of money and making people's dreams come true.

There is always someone around to complain. Max was telling us about a the landlady of a pub on the A49 who was making a professional career out of complaining about events being held at Cholmondeley. Not only is this stupid as local pubs might actually stand to score some extra business from the increased volume of traffic but the pub was also located several hundred yards back from the roadside.
The black lines on the tarmac were a result of me demonstrating the launch control on Corvette as there is no restriction as to how often you can use it. Just needs the clutch fluid changing a little more regularly.

On Saturday the locks bib pulled the XJ220. It had no front plate and I was just hoping that the guys had not pulled him for that. If so, bloody small minded.
