Never used them but visited the site in Maghull.
Depends what you're looking for and how fussy you are. Most of the stock looked very average. Straight from auction fodder really. In their defence though I am very fussy.
What are you looking at ?
I am also very very fussy. I guess the best thing to do is take a couple of hours out of my day and go to view it. What's the worst that can happen! Most of the stuff I've seen in there has had paint. Like I said it's average stuff.I'm sure they get very nice stuff too on occasion so it's the luck of the draw.
Nothing wrong with being fussy !
If you'd like to borrow a paint gauge to inspect the car drop me a PM.
I'm feeling generous today.

Do you mean resprays or machine polishing?

If the car has had paint the paint will usually be thicker in that area. The gauge will identify if the car has had repairs/ respray, etc.Do you mean resprays or machine polishing?
Very easy to use. Just hold it against the metal panel and it will give a reading. Repairs, if done very, very well can sometimes be difficult to spot even if you've got a keen eye.
Detailers use the gauges when machine polishing to record removal rates. Also used to identify non-original paint. Many dealers also use them to assess warranty paint repairs, etc.
