Just heard the show is cancelled this year and been moved to the Vicoria Park in Southport, and at an earlier date............no room for all the cars and no flyingfrown

Reason given..........."Asbestos found at Woodvale"..............well that's fecked the best show of the year up. Thanks elf and safety.mad

It just looks like the new show is a giant funfair..............why FFS has this asbestos problem just come to light.........it must have been their for 60 years doing no harm......ah well, that's one good weekend knackered.

Jeez it's packed enough on that park when the flower show is.

Hiya Red, went to Tatton yesterday, it's another of the must do shows of the year for me, along with Woodvale.
Weather was a bit Iffy yesterday but seems better than today.I only went in the tintop as the 7 club don't attend but I agree a decent show......although I feel even that has gone down the nick now. The trade stands a few years back seemed to be loaded with good bargains but most of it seems like tat now..........probably ebay to thank for thatsmile

I still say Woodvale was the best.........the model aircraft, the military stuff plus the other things you mention.........used to be a great weekend.

As for prices, Tatton is more expensive. I'd booked Woodvale this year for £10, that included the car, passenger and camping if you wanted.............Tatton was £7.50 plus £5 just to get into the parkconfused

Anyhow, with the weather we get for these shows it's all irrelevent anywaybiggrin

I live about 1 mile from Woodvale, and haven't been since 1999, when I had an XR3i (with lots of dents) and tried to make conversation on the XRwkersClub stand. Talk about cliques.

The local paper covered the death of Frazer aged 21, on it's front page

Rather than asbestos, which might be on next weeks front page.

Although more likely to cover the Torch.

Glad you enjoyed Tatton mate smile

I'm hoping the forecast is right for tomorrow. I always enjoy it.

On the subject of Victoria Park though there was a reasonable show there in 2007 (Southport Motor Show IIRC).

BDA'd MK2 Escorts giving it the beans on the (small) circuit was some of the best entertainment I'd seen in a long while. The noise and performance of those cars compared to some of the modern exotica who were also having a blast was unbelievable. Those Escorts were fast !!!

Still, there's 2 shows at Tatton to look forward to locally and the RS National Day later in the year for me.

Here's hoping the summer is a decent one.

Wasn't too impressed with Woodvale Rally this year - what did we get for our entrance fee? Not a lot!
