The one you were at today is a Brunning and Price (B&P) pub. There are a few around the north west and wales, well worth planning runs out to a few like the Dysart Arms, Bunbury and Pant-yr-Ochain, Wrexham.

The one at Mold is a good stop of point on the way back from trackdays at Anglesey too smile

Ah - top job - glad you enjoyed it - I should have mentioned that the sunday roast, burger or fish and chips are my favourites(!)...but it sounds like you found something to your taste...don't know which roads you tried but if you came come back to Macclesfield a mile or so, turn right onto the cat and fiddle to Buxton, turn left to Whaley Bridge, turn left again (past my house!) back to Macclesfield, and you would have had a ball........hmmmm....maybe I should have told you that as well....

I'll get me coat....

Thanks for the new route. Did a leisurely blat up the cat and fiddle and then went to find some quite back roads. The main reason for the trip out was so that OH could get used to driving the 7 she seam to be getting the hang of the sequential box but is not quite confident enough for clutchless up shifts yet

I think they've done well to keep their pubs fairly individual. B&P is owned itself by a much bigger company.

Confirmed - was closed last Thursday night when we went to the excellent Bulls Head across the road.
