I have a motorbike cylinder head that a previous owner has tried to remove a couple of exhaust studs, kinda butchered them, one he/she has slipped with a drill and taken a chunk out of the alloy, the other he/she has snapped it off, at least they did not try and drill that one...

I have removed the head and now need to find an engineer to try and rectify the problem; ie, get the studs out with as little damage as poss.
As close to Liverpool as possible, anyone know anyone....smile

Yup, one of his fan club members too. Give him a call, I'm sure he'll be able to help.

OP, you could also try the Head Shop in Warrington, who do decent quality work.

What about the Customs bike shop in Golborne Wayne?

Very local and if he can't he'll probably know somone who can.

Same yard as PB Tyres.

Did you manage to get the work done?

I had similar issues last year with a couple of exhaust studs. Having tried every type of extractor, propane, oxy-acetylene, etc. The head was set to a local workshop (in Stretford, nr Manchester) to be heli-coiled. Removing & re-fitting the head was knuckle-shredding -If I do it a again, I'll be removing the engine from the frame first, but the bike now has a Fender Extenda and copper slip on the studs and I'll hopefully never need to replace the stainless headers anyway.
