Nice restaurant in Manchester for Wedding Anniversary
Discussion
After some ideas on where I can take the wife for a meal in Manchester. We enjoy good food, "tasting menu" type affairs especially. Good wine to accompany goes without saying too. Happy to spend a bit of money, but equally, I don't want to be spending £200+ per head!
Other option is North African/Middle Eastern as we both enjoy the cooking there too.
Is there any thing that might fit the bill?

Have not been to the major hotels recently but the Lowry or the Midland might have something suitable.
As far as good restaurants go I have not been to the Micheal Caine (spelling ?) place and that might be just what you are looking for. I always like the Retaurant Bar and Grill or my absolute favourite, Sam's Chop House but I don't think that is what you are looking for.
There is always the Grosvenor Hotel in Chester which has a michelin star and was doing some great deals just before Christmas to include dinner and hotel.
Have fun

Thanks guys, some great suggestions there.
Gaucho looks very good, we love a good steak and have wanted to try one of their places for a while.
The Chester Grosvenor & Michael Caines look just the sort of thing I had in mind though.
Will be giving Sam's chophouse a visit too, that'll be a family one though.

Been to Gaucho probs about 8 times (old boss loved the place). Never once had what i would describe as a good meal. Yes, the steak is alright, but at 25 quid a head it wants to be better than alright. Oh, and all the sides are seperate (personal piss boiler). And it's loud.
Resteraunt bar and grill on the other hand? Different class IMO. Still expensive, but better service, never had an average meal there (been a while tho).
