Is £240 reasonable for painting 5 steel wheels
Discussion
I've got 5 13" steel wheels that are stripped and ready to paint. They need a light blasting, etch primer, prime, base coat in silver and then lacquer. I've been quoted £240 for this. Is this reasonable for a good job?
I would estimate materials at £40, labour at say 2 hours at say £50/hour so £240 sounds high to me.
Is there anyone around Preston that will do a decent job on 5 wheels for £150 or am I being unrealistic?

IMO no. I wouldn't dream of paying £240 to have some 13" steelies repainted. Especially wheels which are already without tyres, etc.
There is a place in Mossley, Oldham called Chicago Coating, and they have done lots of powdercoating for me and people I know. They would charge no more than £10 to sandblast then powder coat 1 wheel. Powdercoating would be much more durable than regular paint also.
May not be a suitable location for you, but just gives you an idea of other prices.
